Mühlbauer’s new inspection solution COIN INSPECT inline has especially been designed for being integrated into the production process after coin stamping.
Its main task is to detect angle deviations of the coin design (obverse compared to reverse) by simultaneously visualizing both sides of the falling coin. This is the only reliable method, since every coin turning process implies the risk of minimal deviations in coin orientation which make the inspection result inaccurate or even irrelevant.
The extended version of COIN INSPECT inline can also be used to detect surface defects and major minting defects on coins fresh off the press. Die cracks can immediately be detected and corrective measures can be initiated to prevent any further scrap production.
