COIN INSPECT Blank
Mühlbauer’s new COIN INSPECT Blank has been designed to inspect both sides of blank coins in a high-speed process. Based on field proven technology COIN INSPECT Blank uses state-of-the-art methods and hardware to offer the highest inspection performance available on the market.
The blanks are continuously taken from the hopper and fed into the machine by a vibrating extraction tray. The separation unit aligns the blanks in two parallel lanes lying flat on the belt with constant gaps. These lanes are maintained through the whole transport and inspection process. Blank overflow is recirculated to the hopper. First, the blanks pass the inspection for side 1 before they are turned and conveyed to the inspection of side 2. At the end of the inspection process a coin measurement unit can be provided.
COIN INSPECT Blank is equipped for the specific requirements of blank coins and performs:
- Surface inspection
- Color inspection
- Shape inspection
- Optional: Determination of diameter and thickness
Detected defects are indicated in the live image according to type and position. Inspection protocols are written in a local data base with SQL interface. After being inspected the blanks are sorted according to the inspection results using a 100% reliable sorting technology. All good blanks are moved actively from the transport belt into the good channel. All defective blanks run out straight from the transport belt into the bad part bin.
The hardware and software set-up process is remarkably simple.
