TEMA PI-CUP square

TEMA PI-CUP square is Mühlbauer’s print inspection solution integrated into printing machines for square cups performing a 100% inspection at 800 cup sides/min. According to the printing process one vision unit inspects the print on the long side 1 and long side 2 while the second vision unit checks the print on the front and rear side of the cup. The LED lighting system is best suitable for the individual characteristics of both substrate and decoration. The print quality of each cup side is determined by comparing the print image against one out of two stored reference images; quality assessment is immediately available. The main defects to be detected are color variations, out of register/offset, distorted print, stains, blobs, smear, voids, missing print, and scratches or blisters as far as visible in the camera image. The defect signal can be used for triggering a warning signal, a reject auf the cup, or even a machine stop if necessary.
