Bavarians Minister of the interior Herrmann presents the new
Service card of the Bavarian Police

After more than 35 years, the Bavarian Police replaces the green service card of their 44,500 employees. The new, highly modern document, in a checked card format has vital visible and invisible features that consequently make it forgery-proof.
The company „Mühlbauer“, in Roding, delivers the Machines and cards used in the production process. On Friday, 26 March, Bavaria’s Minister of Interior Joachim Herrmann and Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Schmidbauer, Head of the Bavarian Police introduced the new service card to the audience.
Obstacles for crooks & fraudsters
The card contains numerous security features, including a hologram, MLI-picture (tilting effect) and diverse elements, which can be felt by touching across the surface of the card. The word “police” is engraved on the backside of the card, in a braille texture.
These special features and characteristics make it possible for citizens to easily verify the originality of the document, and identify police impersonators.
Strengthen digitalization
The new service card will also facilitate the continuous digitalization exploits of the Bavarian Police. The integrated RFID –Chip shall enable the recording of working time, access and permissions regulation, and digital document signing.
