Based on a decision of the German Bundestag, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy provides funding for the “PaxToken” research project since 2018. Mühlbauer and several other high-tech companies as well as research partners collaborate to put this project into practice and thus make flights as convenient and comfortable as a downtown shopping tour.
Mühlbauer contributes an automated solution for the pre-flight process, which starts at check-in and baggage-drop. A kiosk solution with certified and trusted biometric hardware enrolls the travelers, then compares and validates their documents and biometrics. The solution is highly adaptive. It supports various languages, including voice output. The integrated camera automatically adjusts its position to the traveler's height.
Travelers can register their biographic data, such as name and date of birth (1), online. Certified biometric devices of the MB Easy Travel Kiosk at the airport (2) will complete and validate the data. The solution can receive, verify and validate up to 4 passengers per minute. Combined with an automated baggage-drop (3) it increases passenger satisfaction and reduces queuing time. Furthermore, the solution’s small footprint allows a multiple deployment, even in confined space.
Combiningexisting approaches like the web check-in with a reliable biometric platform like the MB Easy Travel Kiosk we can speed up the reception process at airports and thus use resources more efficiently. At the same time, we can contribute to a hassle-free travel experience.
