MB Steel Reader is a software solution for examining electronic identification documents in combination with a full-page document reader. Use cases include:
- Inspection of travel documents
- Quality checks after personalization
- Testing of security mechanisms
MB Steel Reader uses secure communication channels to read the chip data via BAC/BAP, SAC or EAC. It supports ICAO Doc. 9303-compliant travel documents, international Driver’s Licenses (iDL based on ISO/IEC 18013) and electronic Vehicle Registration Cards (eVRC), including verification of the chip data.
