SHEET INSPECT
SHEET INSPECT is Mühlbauer’s fully automatic all-in-one solution for separating, inspecting, and sorting blank or printed sheets and has been developed especially for the high demands of Security Printing. Each sheet is removed from the top of the stack, then aligned and separated. Continuous feed is always maintained. The vacuum conveying system delivers the sheets to all inspection units. SHEET INSPECT can be equipped with the following modules: Transmissive inspection, print inspection front (white light), UV inspection front, IR inspection front, print inspection backside (white light), UV inspection backside, IR inspection backside.
Full inspection covers all quality aspects: notch defects, holes, rips, creasing, and knots in the substrate, register variations, color variations, print defects, fiber density, and presence, position, and integrity of security features. A tracking and counting system traces each sheet through the entire inspection process. A barcode reader is available for personalized sheets.
Detected defects are indicated in the live image according to type and position. Inspection protocols are written in a local data base with SQL interface. After being successfully inspected the sheets are sorted and stacked according to the inspection results.
