Document life-cycle management
MB SDM manages the complete life cycle of security documents such as ePassport, eID, driver’s license, vehicle license etc. All life-cycle steps are covered, from the blank document until the life cycle ends due to expiration or damage, including functions for status change, cancelation etc.
There are three main document life-cycle steps:
- InPersonalization
MB SDM triggers document personalization for approved document applications, which involves sending personalization requests to personalization equipment via MB INCAPE. If the quality check on a personalized document fails, it is destroyed and a rework is initiated. - WithAuthority
Personalized documents are shipped to an issuance station. If during transport, receipt, storage or handover, a document turns out to be damaged, missing or to contain a data error, it must be destroyed or blacklisted. A rework or, in case of a data error, a new application must be initiated. - InPublic
After the document was handed over to the holder, its entire modification and status history continues to be tracked until the end of the document life cycle.
