COIN INSPECT Flex
Mühlbauer’s new COIN INSPECT Flex, which has especially been designed for the inspection of blank coins, new coins, and used coins, covers all quality aspects in coin production. Due to its modular design and its standardized cassette system the machine is almost freely configurable and can perfectly be adapted to specific demands. Based on field proven technology COIN INSPECT Flex uses state-of-the-art methods and hardware to offer the highest inspection performance available on the market.
The coins are continuously taken from the hopper and fed into the machine by a vibrating extraction tray. The coin separation unit aligns the coins in two parallel lanes lying flat on the belt with constant gaps. These lanes are maintained through the whole transport and inspection process. Coin overflow is recirculated to the hopper. Successively, the coins pass up to 3 inspection units per lane for side 1 before they are turned and conveyed to further 3 potential inspection units per lane for side 2 accordingly. At the end of the inspection process a coin measurement unit for coin thickness and coin diameter is available.
COIN INSPECT Flex can be equipped with the following inspection units:
- Inspection of blanks (surface defects, color defects, rim defects)
- Inspection of coinage (Miss striking, die cracks, wrong coinage intensity, rim defects)
- Color inspection for minted coins (stains, dirt, corrosion, etc.)
- Inspection of Coin Edge and Coinage
- Determination of Diameter and Thickness
Detected defects are indicated in the live image according to type and position. Inspection protocols are written in a local data base with SQL interface. After being inspected the coins are sorted according to the inspection results using a 100% reliable sorting technology. All good blanks and coins are moved actively from the transport belt into the good channel. All defective blanks and coins run out straight from the transport belt into the bad part bin.
The hardware and software set-up process is remarkably simple.
