The EMV personalization package provides an easy and cost efficient way to personalize EMV chips. A key feature is the Chip Operating System (COS) specificity of the chip personalization application, allowing the personalization of chips with a specific chip operating system with different applets using the same personalization application. Mühlbauer has implemented a large number of such applications for various different chip operating systems on the MULTOS, Java card platforms, as well as Native OS from many different vendors.

Components
- Data acquisition: Intuitive production setup of personalization equipment. The application accepts and transforms raw cardholder data
- CardInk data preparation: Processes raw cardholder data for personalization – for a fast and easy way to prepare all the personalization data not only on the chip
- EMV chip coding application: Converts EMV personalization data into the correct APDUs for the chip operating system
- EMV framework in combination with FIPS 140-2 Level 3 Hardware Security Modules (HSM) for secure usage and storage of cryptographic keys
