Mühlbauer’s New COIN INSPECT as Highlight at the World Money Fair 2017

Visitors pricked up their ears even before the World Money Fair in Berlin opened its doors. At the pre-convention event, the Technical Forum, Mr. Ralf Freiberger (responsible for product development at Mühlbauer) explained the idea behind the new inspection solution COIN INSPECT: a modular, freely configurable machine which can easily be adapted to specific demands of coin inspection. One day later Mühlbauer turned rhetoric into action and presented the new machine live at their booth.

Inspired by the market itself: the inspection solution for all quality aspects of coins

From the outset the interest was enormous. One machine united the members of the most diverse Coin Family. The general statement: Mühlbauer’s COIN INSPECT exactly reflects what the market requires today – a highly flexible inspection machine to replace a variety of special solutions and standards.

Visitors were impressed by the absolutely smooth (and surprisingly low-noise) coin transport in a steady two-lane operation on seamless belts running at a throughput rate of up to 3000 upm. And they were really excited about the range of inspection options they would be able to choose from by simply changing the vision units in any desired combination. Beside high resolution inspection of blanks and minted coins some unique technical innovations attracted much attention, among them coin edge inspection on the belt and combined diameter/thickness measurement via transmitted light technology with accuracy never achieved before.

Face to face with the inspection solution COIN INSPECT everyone could see and try out the simple and convenient setup and operation of the machine. For some visitors it almost seemed to be fun to handle this complex mechanical and technical solution in such an easy way.

Right at the booth the company Permetal agreed on a strategic cooperation with Mühlbauer for coin inspection. They regard it as an investment in the future; they will have a machine they can tailor exactly to their demands and maybe extend later on if required.
